The doctor that will greet you at our hospital after you enter the exam room is Dr. Daphne Hill. Her dream has always been to have "a healing center for animals" and the Animal Hospital & Bird Clinic has been an embodiment of that dream for the last 35 years. Dr. Hill was born in La Jolla, California and educated in the California school system attending the University of California, Berkley before going on to Utah State to receive her BS in zoology. Dr. Daphne then moved to Honolulu completing her master's degree in developmental biology. It was when she was working on her PhD in Honolulu at the medical school she decided to follow the tug on her heart to go into veterinarian medicine. She enrolled at Washington State Veterinary College where she received her DVM and then completed a small animal internship working with small animals and exotics at the University of California, Davis. Dr. Daphne left Davis and opened her own small animal, avian and exotic practice here in Fresno. In her spare time she loves to garden, read, interior decorate, cook and quilt. Her constant companion these days is Wall E, her Shih-Tzu/mini Pincher rescue puppy and Ciel E another rescue Terrier X. She still has time for Kubo, her 20 year old Congo African Gray and her 5 rescue cats: Dycus, Darcy, Samantha, Annie and Andy.

A well known and loved employee at the Hospital is Anne Sanders who has been Dr. Hill's manager for over almost 10 years. Anne was born and raised in Montana. She worked in her father's feedlots and stockyards (when she was not attending school) from the time she was 10 years old until she left home to go away to college. While at college she met and married her husband, Jack. Soon after college, they moved to Australia and New Zealand where they lived for several years before settling in Fresno. Jack and Anne have 4 children and 4 grandchildren. They also enjoy their animal family which consists of Labradoodle, Shooter; a German Shepherd/Collie, Simba; 3 cats, Tigger, Munchee and Danger; a Cockatoo, Pancho, and an Indian Ringneck Parrot, Baby. Anne loves to read, garden, and spend time
with her family.
When you enter the hospital you will no doubt be greeted by the familiar face of our bright eyed, experienced, and caring receptionist Jaclyn Mendoza. Jaclyn was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts where she worked both as a veterinary technician and receptionist. From Boston, Jaclyn moved to Hawaii where she married her husband, Javier, and continued to work in Veterinary Medicine as a Veterinary Technician before moving to Fresno and joining our staff. Javier and Jaclyn are parents of a three year old son, Cameron, who has a new "best friend" named Chevy, a Golden Retriever puppy, that was a Christmas gift from Jaclyn to her family. As for Jaclyn's interests, Go Red Sox!!!

No doubt, you will see Emily Orndoff's smiling face while you are at our hospital. Emily has been assisting with our files and front desk. She is a Fresno gal, (born and raised) who loves the outdoors and takes advantage of any free time to travel and camp with her family. She has a Chihuahua named Tinker and a new Boxer pup named Kali, and 2 loving short haired cats named James and Annie. Emily looks forward to a future working with animals.
Chelsea Davis is one of our veterinary assistants who will put a smile on anyone’s face. You will see Chelsea assisting Dr. Hill with treatments and helping to care for our boarding patients. Chelsea is attending Fresno State studying Animal Science, she is also a member of the pre-vet club and Ag Ambassadors. On Chelsea’s free time she enjoys playing soccer and competing in agility with her adorable Welsh Corgie named William.
Denise Cabral, a pre vet major at Fresno State is one of our valued veterinary assistants. She was born in Los Angeles and raised in Strathmore. Denise is a dedicated worker who is always willing to help. She has a special, caring, gentle heart for our animals. In her free time she likes to visit her family and ride her father’s horses. Denise has two cute dachshunds named Tootsie and Winston.

Born and raised in Fresno Kendra Nunes has been an animal lover from childhood. Raising and showing swine, sheep, rabbits, chickens and dairy cattle in 4-H and FFA she has always been surrounded by a big animal family. Her house is home to two Labrador retrievers, Ginger and Rosie, three short haired cats, Oreo, Choochee and the newest addition Lola, along with rabbits, chickens, fish and cockatiels. She is currently attending Fresno City College Honors Program majoring in pre-veterinary medicine. Kendra dedicates her spare time to helping around the community and coaching youth volleyball. She also loves to ride horses and spend time with her family and friends.

Emily Goldman is a Fresno City College student with aspirations to one day be an RN. Until that time, Emily is assisting with our animal family at the hospital. Emily has always been an animal lover. In High School she became involved with FFA showing cattle, swine, sheep, goats and turkeys. Since joining our staff, she has rescued Wilbur, a kitty needing a new home. Wilbur quickly adapted to Emily's loving home and they have grown to be close buddies.

Growing up in Oakhurst, it is no wonder that Emily likes the outdoors. She loves to camp and when she is not working she just likes to be outside.
